Have you ever met a child named Charlotte or Aidan? How about a Evabeth or Jaspin? If you’ve never heard of the latter two, that may be because these unique, mashed-up names are part of a modern naming trend that aims to give children one-of-a-kind names.

According to a new study by ChannelMum, 94% of the parents surveyed believe “made-up” baby names are becoming increasingly popular. Each child is special, so it only makes sense that parents want to give their kids a name that no one else has. In addition, a third of the parents surveyed in the study believed that unique names will make kids feel special — and help them to stand out on social media.

While a rare name may make it harder for your child to find their name on a novelty keychain, it’s true that a creative name may make your child feel more special. Here are the top “made-up” names for both girls and boys:

Before you know it, you’ll be celebrating their first birthday — then their eighteenth! So capture every moment, and print 30 of your favorite photos each month (straight from your phone) into a Monthbook, aka the best way to create a baby book and keep all their pictures through adulthood.
