Have you ever met a child named Charlotte or Aidan? How about a Evabeth or Jaspin? If you’ve never heard of the latter two, that may be because these unique, mashed-up names are part of a modern naming trend that aims to give children one-of-a-kind names.

According to a new study by ChannelMum, 94% of the parents surveyed believe “made-up” baby names are becoming increasingly popular. Each child is special, so it only makes sense that parents want to give their kids a name that no one else has. In addition, a third of the parents surveyed in the study believed that unique names will make kids feel special — and help them to stand out on social media.

While a rare name may make it harder for your child to find their name on a novelty keychain, it’s true that a creative name may make your child feel more special. Here are the top “made-up” names for both girls and boys:

When it comes to naming our children, only you can decide what’s best for your new bundle of joy. No matter what you decide to name your little one, make sure to take LOTS of pictures. Before you know it, you’ll be celebrating their first birthday — then their eighteenth! So capture every moment, and print 30 of your favorite photos each month (straight from your phone) into a Monthbook, aka the best way to create a baby book and keep all their pictures through adulthood.
