When it comes to the holidays, we reflect on how much our kids (and our family) have grown and changed. That's why it's 'tis the season to snap all the photos you can while they're dressed in their festive gear.

And don't forget—your perfect photo moments will look great on the cover of your next subscription photo book, or Classic Photo Book.

How to DIY a Holiday Photoshoot

First, roll out some festive wrapping paper, making sure you attach with tape to the top (but do not cut the paper), so the wrapping paper goes from halfway up the wall to cover about two feet of the floor, creating a backdrop.

You may have to repeat this action to achieve a large enough width in the background.

Wrap boxes and add ribbon to create the illusion of presents, then set your kids in front of the back drop and capture plenty of candids!

Next, using a transparent string (like illusion cord), add holiday ornaments to the string and cut at different lengths.

Grab a shower or curtain rod, and tie the ornaments to the rod at varying lengths, about equidistant in width from one another.

Then, hang a sheet over an object like a crib or a couch, and prop your rod on top so the ornaments hang down over the back drop.

Add some ornaments to the ground and capture candids as your kids pick them up and gaze at the ornaments above them.

Lastly, take clear tacks or pins and arrange them on the wall to create a zig-zag pattern with a point at the top, creating the illusion of a tree.

Wrap holiday lights back and forth, creating the pattern of a holiday tree. Then, lay down a festive blanket, get your kids in front of their lit tree and start snapping pics!
