Information We Collect
The personal information we collect about you may include, without limitation:
- Contact information, such as name, email address, and phone number;

Social Media Accounts. If you choose to log into the Services using a social media account you may be asked to grant us access to certain information from your social media profile, such as your full name, photographs, and email address. Social media networks operate independently from Chatbooks, and we are not responsible for social media networks’ interfaces or privacy or security practices. Please refer to the privacy settings of the applicable social media platform or application to determine how you may manage the interactivity between Chatbooks and your social media account.
Other Information. To personalize your experience and to improve our products and Services, we may ask you to provide us with information about your personal interests, professional interests, demographics and experiences with our products or Services. Providing this additional information is optional. If you elect not to share this information with us, it will not affect your access to the Services. If you participate in community discussions and chats, we will capture that information. The amount and type of information you share voluntarily in these ways, and the decision whether to share posts, and with whom to share them, is always your choice. When you share content from any of your Groups (as defined below), we may collect the email addresses and phone numbers of the recipients of any content you have elected to share with others. We will not disclose these email addresses and phone numbers to any third parties. Please note, however, that these people will be able to forward your email and phone number containing the shared content to other parties, if they choose.
Information We Collect Automatically
In addition to the personal information you may provide to us as described above, we automatically collect certain device and statistical information to allow the Services to work better for you. This information helps us evaluate how users and members use the Service, including by conducting data analysis and internal research to understand how our website is used, auditing the Services, developing new products and services, improving the Services, identifying usage trends and determining the effectiveness of promotional campaigns.
The technologies we use to gather this information include:
- IP Addresses: IP addresses define the Internet location of your device and help us better understand the geographic distribution of our members and manage the performance of our website. We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our website.
- Web logs: We examine Web logs to learn how you use our website, these show the paths people take through our website and how long they spend in certain areas. We also use Web logs to detect the type of Web browser you are using so that we can optimize the performance of our website and understand the mix of browsers used by our members.
- Cookies and Third-Party Analytics: Cookies are tiny files that are placed onto the hard drive of your computer when you visit our website. They let us immediately recognize you when you return to the site. This enables us, among other things, to personalize your experience with our site. We will comply in all respects with applicable consumer credit laws.

It may not be possible for us to cease processing or to delete all of the information we hold about you in certain instances, including where we are fulfilling a transaction, have a legal basis to retain the information, detect illegal or fraudulent activity, or need it to engage solely internal uses that are reasonably aligned with consumer expectations based on your relationship with us. Children Under the Age of 13
The Services are not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from, children under the age of 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will delete that information. Where We Store Your Personal Information
Chatbooks is located, and its Services are hosted, in the United States of America. When we obtain information about you, we may transfer, process, and store such information outside of the country in which you reside, including in the United States. By using the Services, you consent to the transfer to and processing and storage of your information in countries outside of your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws than those in the country where you reside.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights
This Section for California Residents supplements the information contained in this Privacy Policy. This Section applies to California residents from whom we collect personal information from who reside in the State of California. We adopt this privacy notice to comply with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) and any terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning when used in this Section.

Sales of Personal Information
We have not “sold” our customers information, as defined by the CCPA, within the past 12 months.
Your Rights and Choices
Please contact us through the information set forth below if you would like to exercise any of the rights offered to you in Section 10 of this Privacy Policy. We will also permit an authorized agent to make such requests on your behalf. Please note that we may request certain information from you in order to confirm your identity or verify your authorized agents. Chatbooks will not discriminate against California residents who choose to exercise their rights as permitted by California law.
Response Timing and Format
We endeavor to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time (for a maximum total of 90 days), we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing. Any disclosures we provide will only cover the 12-month period preceding the receipt of a verifiable consumer request. The response we provide will also explain the reasons we cannot comply with a request, if applicable. For data portability requests, we will select a format to provide your personal information that is readily useable and should allow you to transmit the information from one entity to another entity without hindrance.
We do not charge a fee to process or respond to your verifiable consumer request unless the request is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why we made that decision and provide you with a cost estimate before completing your request. Alternatively, we may decline to respond to the request and notify you of our reason for doing so.
Other California Privacy Rights
California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of the Services that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
